Sipix is very similar to e-Ink. From what I hear it's slightly darker than the newest e-Ink screens (Perl, such as the new Kindle and Sony readers).
WTR blinking, I don't really think it's annoying, you get used to it after a while.
Your biggest choice is going to be between back-lit screens and e-Ink.
Try both before you decide for yourself, it seems to be a very personal preference.
