Reader for children's books

Instead of creating a collection of hundreds of children's books (Dr. Seuss, Golden Stories, etc) I would like to get an ereader that I could use to sit down and read with my younger children. I know the Nook Color is coming out ($250) but I'm wondering if there is another option that might be a little cheaper. I would like to get two so my wife can read to the children on one and I can read to the children on the other. I'm not interested in where I'd get the books from, I just want to know what options might be available. It would only be used for reading children's books since we have a kindle 3 and a nook 3g that we use to read novels, non-fiction, etc. Any thoughts?
