What format is the book?
Is it a pdf document you sideloaded or a regular azw/prc/mobi (same format, different extension)?
If it's *not* a pdf document and it's a book you bought from Amazon, it might be (shudder) in Topaz format. In that case, your best bet is to contact Amazon user support; they are reportedly very responsive and helpful.

Basically, the font sizing button should resize all text in a standard Kindle book.
(Unless the half page not being rescaled is a graphic element; a map or table.)
