Thanks!
I've used the 505 for a few hours now and I really like it. I like the way it's designed, it's easy to hold and use, and the cover is fairly nice, making it quasi-feel like I'm holding an actual book. This is my first eInk reader and it's quite an improvement over the PDA's I've used over the years. The grey background takes a little getting used to (I wonder if they'll ever be able to make it white?), but the crisp text makes for a more pleasurable reading experience.
My only concern is that I plan on buying a number of things from Sony Connect, and with Amazon poised to potentially become a juggernaut in the digital book field, it seems possible Sony might one day decide it's not worth the effort and pull the plug on the whole thing. I suppose that's a chance one takes with any device that uses DRM, including the Kindle.
But there's enough stuff out there to read that I'm sure I'll get my money's worth out of the 505, and maybe eventually Sony will open it up to more formats. Hopefully they stick with it...it's a great device.
