... and thus began the idea of them 'sitting' on them and flying. With enough psychedelic ('ergot' in days of old) ointments smeared on the sticks and transdermaly absorbed, witches could have a merry old time flying for hours! Nothing like a good psychedelic episode to make one think about the eye of newt, and toe of frog, wool of bat, and tongue of dog, Adder's fork, and blind-worm's sting, Lizard's leg, and howlet's wing, etc., etc., etc.
