On a sidenote: When I had the DR1000 on an energy meter I noticed the touchscreen already senses the stylus from about 1 or 2 cm away. The power usage would shoot up when I got the stylus in that range.
There's probably a hidden soft- or hardware switch somewhere where you can make the device more or less sensitive to the stylus.
