from what I gather color eink would be a mirasol screen /display which is quite a ways off...
LCD screens as readers have their followers but the majority of core enthusiast prefer e-ink for it's weight, readability and power consumption.
The drawback with e-ink i.e. current gen shipping like the Pearl 16 shades of grey found in latest gen of sony.. it can't really handle fast screen refresh which what lcd can do.
