It's probably worth adding that we discourage the use of external images: it's bad "manners" to use someone else's bandwidth by displaying an image from their site, and there's no guarantee that the image will remain there (remember that someone might be viewing your post years in the future).
The best way to handle images is as attachments; that way they are stored on the MR server and are guaranteed to remain "available" whenever the message may be viewed.
