I like to read mine without the case (unless I'm travelling with it). Makes it lighter and it's easier to switch hands if desired. I've had my K3 since they came out and haven't dropped it yet, and I'm pretty clumsy. If I did drop it, it would usually only be to my lap or the bed, anyway.

That's the way I do it too, although sometimes I press the forward button by accident. I suppose this style wouldnt be easy for women or men with smaller hands.
