Answers 2, 3 and 4 are all equally valid for me, although a cover will surely attract me, a sample is necessary to seal the deal. Sometimes a blurb is enough. Reviews are like covers to me, they attract me, but I need to have proof that the writing style is tolerable, thus I answered with number 3. One can't always trust that reviewer's tastes are compatible with your own.
