Sorry, I accidentally posted the same problem myself earlier today (didn't see this thread).
I've got exactly the same problem as JimKelly and I'm also using gmail.
I think this problem only surfaced after I upgraded to the latest release of the software.
I don't recall seeing it prior to that.
