Daniel Suarez not only wrote great, contemporary, fast-paced techno-thrillers (the Daemeon and the sequel), he also managed to get most of his [computer related] technical details right. He checked the technical aspect of the book with a "white hat" hacker community and the result is ... chilling.
If you ever played Doom or Duke Nukem or Quake or Half-life you will love the book.
