Okay, THIS is embarrassing: my only defense is, I'm waiting on new glasses to be delivered. I just couldn't see the superscript numbers. Ahem. However, yup, they are indeed there. I was able to see the notes, and to see the jump back (and the TOC, Table of Illustrations, etc., all of which worked fine)...but I wasn't able to see the initial superscripted numeric note. I had to really look for it. My bad. I increased the size of the font, and my error was apparent even to me. :-(

Sorry, Jellby! But the rest of what I said still stands--book looks great, works great.
