@foghat: If you want a full screen image, it'll have to be *exactly* 600x800 (non-DX), or 824x1200 (DX).
If it isn't, the Kindle will most probably do something weird with it, depending on the FW. (At the very best, it'll be centered in the middle of the screen, with a blank (ie. white) margin).
Bottom line: process your image accordingly instead of using a straight dump from a book.
