DOS floppies will not work correctly with NTFS formatted drives (probably won't even see them). Modern drives, way exceed

any size that was envisioned back in the DOS ("Who needs more than 640K of RAM" days.
The Windows XP (up) command prompt is NOT MSDOS, it just looks like it.
