I'm more hoping for a Mobipocket release for the sony reader. I agree with you that eventually Amazon will release books in multiformat (although I think there will be a lag when releasing hot titles).
I'm hoping that there is enough independence between Amazon and Mobipocket to allow them to carry on releasing the reader for other devices. So I can download Mobi books that are already out there.
