We purchased the Kindle 3 and used it for a couple weeks. My husband and I didn't like the keyboard at the bottom. I didn't like the position of the next page buttons. I returned it and got a Sony 650. My husband likes it OK (he doesn't really care and can get used to anything). I love it. Much easier to swipe for pages and I really think the menu system makes more sense. I don't like how you have to use the Reader software on your computer to see your handwritten notes on ebook/PDF pages but you can get a nice svg image of your notes (without the page of the book). You also have to use the Reader software to export your highlights to RTF. But once in RTF format, it is annotated and ready to go.

Overall I'm pleased as a peach. And the lighted cover works very well, too.
