When I tried to connect my husband's new Sony 650 with the Sony cable, to a generic AC adapter, the Sony screen had a message that the unit could detect no "power source".

The necessity of having to purchase an actual Sony adapter is, to my mind, very annoying ... and had I known that, I might have rethought my purchase.
