I can fully appreciate the timing of death thing...and having them in your arms.

When my wife's dog died (which still brings tears to my eyes), it'd been a long week of restless nights and assisting him outside to the bathroom - then suddenly all of us (5 people) knew it was time for him to die, it was a bit scary as he did whine a bit and struggle - something which I think is what haunts us still to this day.

A peaceful death is something we all wish for (the dying included).
