Erring on the side of goodwill I withheld my original tirade and just "hid" him, but not before I fired off a "what's up with that?" to his brother. Not sure if non-Americans can appreciate this but it burns my toast (to put it EXTREMELY mildly) when my patriotism is questioned.

Don't worry too much. He's just publicly showing his own immaturity. He is likely so full of his own importance at the moment to even realise he may have put other people's noses out of joint.
