I'm convinced the SCART connector was designed to do exactly that. If I had to choose one connector as the definitive rubbish design, it'd be SCART. The plug will occasionally come out ever so slightly, just enough for one colour to disappear on the TV, simply because the connector isn't strong enough to hold such a heavy cable in place.
