Unfortunately very typical for Sony and a lot of other manufacturers, especially concerning new products. Most of these call centers pay slightly above minimum wage for entry level positions and then move the more talented folks into higher paying and more difficult jobs over time. It leaves us with perpetual entry level expertise and no real desire to do better. They're paid to answer the phone and how many calls they take, not necessarily the knowledge they have. It's unfortunate, but also the new reality in the vast majority of situations.
