"I just like to use an abacus"
Some people just like to resist change, or fear it with every fiber of their being.
My uncle used to mock me for sitting in front of computers all day and using the internet (Back in 95). Then he had to get one for email/online banking. Now he uses it all the time.
It will take people time, and exposure to ereaders to get used to them. PCs have been mainstream for over 30 years, and many people still do not know how to do very basic things (find stuff online, print, use a keyboard/mouse). Cellphones are the same way. 95% of cellphone users don't know how to use the majority of functions on the phones. Even most of the people that THINK they know how to use their phones, don't even know most of what the phones can do.
So like I said, exposure. But then again. I never see people with kindles in public. And I never see them advertised on television. There are never billboards for them. They might be advertised in magazines (that would make the most sense, but I don't read magazines).
So I don't know how people will get exposure. I shop at amazon/newegg almost exclusively, so that's how I got exposure to their advertising. You can't go to amazon.com and not see stuff about the kindle.
