My Career as an Actor: "Patron 3" in a Strip Bar...

In its kind praise of my Jake Lassiter novel "MORTAL SIN," ($2.99), Kindle Nation Daily busts me!

My one shot as an actor. I lit a stripper's cigarette in the NBC-TV movie adaptation of my novel, "To Speak for the Dead." The Kindle Nation piece accurately reported that I successfully struck the match to tobacco in one try: "One Take Levine."

I also got to work with the fine actors Robert Loggia and Gerald McRaney, pictured in the article flanking me here on the set in New Orleans.

But, back to "Mortal Sin."

The Jake Lassiter thriller hit number 2 last week on Kindle's hardboiled bestseller list. Here's the synopsis:

The Miami linebacker-turned-lawyer is sleeping with a client's wife and chasing after a mob-connected scheme to bring casino gambling to an Everglades Indian reservation. But that’s only a cover for a more sinister ploy that oozes corruption, blood, and money. One false move, and Jake will be gator bait.

“Just the remedy for those who can’t get enough Spenser and miss Travis McGee terribly.” – St. Petersburg Times

“‘Mortal Sin’ may not be better than a trip to Florida, but it’s the next best thing.” – Detroit Free Press

“Fun...the action is non-stop.” – Chicago Tribune

All Jake Lassiter novels are $2.99 or less on Kindle.
