I just finished reading a book by Madeleine Wickham (aka Sophie Kinsella) called The Wedding Girl. I've read most of the books under the Kinsella name and feel the non-Shopaholic one's were best (especially The Undomestic Goddess) but this one was the first of the Wickham books I've ever read and I was blown away by it. Although the plot was a bit shallow, the character development was outstanding. I'm looking forward to latching onto and reading other Wickham books.
I'm also working on Blow Me Down by Katie MacAlister on my JBL when away from the house and, at home (I read on my TV instead of my JBL when at home) I just started on From Wedded Wife to Lesbian Wife, an anthology edited by Deborah Abbott. I spotted this book (as I did the Wickham book) on a bargain table and latched onto it as possibly being interesting. I've barely started it and one quote at the start of a chapter was attributed to someone who shares the name of a lass I used to sing with in a local chorale. Since the name is fairly unusual, it must be the lass I knew. The one I know I knew was a muscian with a band and has written some music but I didn't know she was a writer. I'll probably see her in December at a concert (she still sings in the chorale) so I will clear up that mystery then.
