After buying the PRS350 I was very pleased with it. The screen was crispy clear, reading felt as natural as possible on it and it was very easy to use. After using it for two days and seeing the new Ipod Touch with the high res screen however, the Sony seemed very limited. I was bothered by the fact I had paid 170 euros for a machine only capable of displaying ebooks, and it was all black/white. After this I returned the PRS350 and bought a Touch 8GB, it cost me only 50 euros more. After using it for some time, reading it on it was very pleasant. No eye strains (my eyes aren't the best), the screen size does bother but one gets used to it and managing books with Calibre + Stanza is very, very easy.
In conclusion, I'd advice to buy the Touch for anyone who is a light reader. I read maybe 2-3 hours a day depending on my agenda, it's pretty good. This post is not meant to bash ereaders, the PRS350 was great and the touchscreen was very responsive and intuitive, but it felt very restricted. I'll probably go for a medium screen ereader in the future, but not untill we get full color screens.
PS. this is my first Ipod ever, so fanboy feelings did not have any effect in my experience.
