Good to have your company, Noel. With a Sony device, you cannot rely on a USB charge from a computer or laptop, and the battery meter is terribly over-optimistic and misleading. You'll probably find -- as I did on advice from here a couple of years ago -- that if you give your machine a full AC mains charge overnight, and do that every week or two, you'll solve all problems.
