Is PDF support the only determining factor? What about access to bookstores and other features? What percentage of your reading do you expect to do with PDFs vs other book types?
The few PDFs that I have tried on my Kindle (computer manuals, music sheets) have displayed perfectly in portrait orientation. If landscape, it starts to get a bit small on the eyes and I have to start rotating the screen or zooming in.
Word documents on the other hand have been a bit hit and miss for me.
