Darn, I miss my old Toshiba tecra 220CS. I'd rather super battery life than a stupid disc drive. I've used it all of 3 times in a year, and once was to burn myself the image of Windows 7 when I got my laptop last august :-( (MSDN AA).

It might be a decent idea now that I think about it, but methinks having external keyboards and all _might_ compromise the sturdiness of the device.

For those of you who don't want a keyboard and want ePub, just don't get the Kindle. Get a nook or the 650 or something like that. I'm not being cocky but Amazon has made it clear that they won't support ePub which would very well threaten their business.
I'd rather have the Amazon library behind me while I convert ePubs to mobi (I know this sounds terribly fanboyish). This is because mobi runs like a charm on my underpowered mobile phone while large epubs cause my phone to crash. (Freda vs Mobipocket reader). Therefore I have yet another reason to stick to mobi.

By the way, what quality in the Kindle attracts people who want both touchscreen and ePUB? I'm just curious to know.
