American Psycho isn't funny in quite that way. Its (the book's) humour is satirically black and ultra-cynically, quintessentially (post-) 80's...sort of like a
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas for the/us
Miami Vice generation, where you might occasionally laugh, but mostly you shudder and kind of want to scrub your soul a little, or a lot. Dark-dark.
I'm not recommending it, but I'm not trying to dissuade you either (I've thus recommended it while absolving myself of the recommendation
