Free book + charity donation - The Celebrity Pasta Lover's Cookbook [PDF]

Until the end of October 15th, pasta-maker Barilla are offering not just a free download of a PDF cookbook, but also will give a $1 donation at their cost (up to $150,000) to the Meals on Wheels Association of America, which apparently delivers food to shut-in people, for each individual person who clicks the pledge-on-my-behalf button before downloading their Celebrity Pasta Lover's Cookbook.

Thus far, they're only up to $65,681 as of my download.

So even though a lot of people seem to hate PDF around here, let's see if we can at least bump their donation numbers up a bit.

The cookbook is DRM-free and full-colour, though of an awkward size that will probably not look all that great on your reader. It's got recipes by 12 celebrities using Barilla products, so if you ever wanted to know Julianne Moore makes her Vegetarian Lasagne with 1 box of Barilla WAVY Lasagne, you're in luck!

No e-mail or other info is required, though I think you need to have JavaScript, and possibly Flash, turned on in your browser before the pledge button works. And they do try to persuade you to sign up for their newsletter, but you can easily close the pop-up box to skip that.

Since it's for a good cause and will cost you nothing besides 3 megs of hard disk space and maybe 2 minutes of your time, I encourage all to spread the link around like a communicable disease, and bon appetit!
