A former co-worker described his experiences when you got a yellow Labrador Retriever. He got the dog a dog bed, and put it next to his bed, but the dog wanted to sleep in bed with him.
So for nights running, he'd go to bed, start to fall asleep, and have to get up a move the dog off his bed into the dog bed.
One night, he was in the process of falling asleep when he heard noises and felt vibrations. He awoke to discover the dog laboriously dragging the dog bed up onto the bed beside him. "You want me to sleep on this? Okay, I'll sleep on this. But I'm gonna do it up here with you!"

smart puppy!!!! actually Newfies will cuddle for a bit, but usually are of the opinion that their people are too hot and will leave the bed pretty quickly. now sleeping with an Irish Wolfhound is AGONY!!!! they are ALL knees and elbows, and SHARP!!!!
