You need to have Acrobat Extended 9 (well that what I use)
you can unlock it with username/pw
save as (optimized PDF)
DISCARD OBJECTS & DISCARD USER DATA = your friends
discard all form submission, import, and reset
flatten form fields
discard all javascript actions
discard all alternate images
discard all comments forms and multimedia
discard document information and metadata
discard hidden layer content and flatten visible layers
delete the unlock page
Protection removed. You may now use it on your Ereader.
Check if this is legal? I assume it is because you can PRINT TO XPS/PDF and then put it on your ereader, but the filesize will be huge (standard textbook 10 mb file -> 400mb, if you use my method it will remain 10mb)
Oh, most of the time they don't prohibit save of the PDF, but they NEVER prohibit OPEN. If save is locked, you will need a PDF cracker software, 99% sure you will not need this, as you have the information to unlock the pdf already for view (you own access to the PDF).
All this overlay is, is an image overlay on every page that says (protectedpdf), and then some text overlays underneath this with some random garbage text to hinder conversion. When you use the form to enter login/pass, it simply uses javascript to hide all of the overlays.
So enter password and do what I said above. If you don't know the password, it's probably hashed so GL digging it out of the javascript, so your next best option is to delete/remove all of the overlays (GL with that).
