I have problems whatever we use.
crystals and they get spread all over the floor.
pellets and they disintegrate into saw dust and get spread all over the floor.

we did find bags of wood pellets that disintegrated into a fibre rather than dust. when the manufacturer changed it into pellets that ended up as dust, I asked them why and discovered the fibre ones were a temporary measure!
