Sometimes you have a problem that needs a solution. Other times, you have a solution that just needs a problem. Gorilla Glass was the latter.
Funny about Corning because they are known to have played very fast and loose with claiming credit for inventing all sort of glassware...including glass bakeware. Evidence is not all in the patent applications...for me the interesting part is the claim the Gorilla Glass formula is nearly 50-years old. Interesting but I never take info from Corning at anything other than face value...their museum is sure fun though. Who knew glass was such a science and few of use appreciate the significant glass making has played throughout human history. Nice link!!
