Installed from packages or the newest and greatest from here:

Just copy and paste the command line to the terminal.

I am using Calibre under Mint Linux 9.0 - Isadora that is based on Ubuntu 10.4 and everything works very well. Draging columns, animated covers browser, drag & drop of files from file manager to various parts of GUI, automatic download of covers. Everything.

What version of Ubuntu are you using?
