It is neither fair nor unfair, it just is.

If the price is higher than the percieved value to me, I don't buy. If the price is higher in one store, than in another, then I don't buy from the higher priced shop. If I can't buy from the lower priced shop, then I re-evaluate the percieved value, and if the price seems too high, I don't buy. With all due respect, 'fair' has very little to do with the world as it is.
