I don't purchase or borrow books by their cover, but I certainly like seeing the visual reminder once they have been added to my library for selection.

Also, I think a lot of the people at MR who started e-reading on a E-Ink device have different expectations than those who started e-reading on handhelds. The handheld software options offer more features, like book covers and organization, because it is more mature technology.
