Over at NaNoWriMo one whole board is titled "NaNo Soundtracks" and it's where people post about what music they listen to when writing and which music fits the theme of their writing project etc. We are a species that has a emotional response to sound.

For me, I like to write with music in the background. I find music enhances the subconscious on some level. I don't play it loud, but I usually will have something playing in another room quietly in the background while I am writing.
