I downloaded the beta before the official release just to get the opfs written . I left it running overnight at that time and it wrote all the metadata files. The laptop has been on overnight several times since then. It's slow well after the metadata updates completed. I do have antivirus software, but would it still be churning those files at least a week later (if not longer?)

I don't remember what version I'm running on, I do want to say 22, but, I can't swear to it (not being at home).

If I have the most recent version, is there something else it could be? Or is anyone else having speed issues? I have no problems with assuming it's my system, it just seems weird that after an update Calibre is suddenly is dragging its heels, and everything else is still zippy. So, I thought I'd check in here .
