As in "in the 'Kinshield Legacy,' May takes a ancient story and twists it to..." (I made that up, if you couldn't tell, book is real though, and good!)

What would you use instead? Ms or Mr or whole name or "the author?" Really curious. I think in my reviews I usually say something like "the author..." but I may sometimes use the surname... I can't remember. I don't feel comfortable using just the first name, especially if the first name is an initial
