He almost unquestionably was clean-shaven and had short hair - picture the typical "marine". That's what the normal fashion was in the 1st century Roman empire, and that's what all depictions of Jesus showed until about the 8th century, when the (
then-current) fashion of long hair and beard took over. Any depiction of Jesus as bearded or with long hair is anachronistic and almost unquestionably wrong.
