My particular job is to raise laying breeding stock from day-old pullets to laying-age and weight. This involves feeding, watering (most of which is automatic but still needs an eye,) balancing food and nutrient requirements, monitoring the birds daily and removing those unsuitable or have died, general cleaning and maintenance, as well as specified vaccinations when required according to a timetable set out by the geneticists.
In addition, I help process pullets in the hatchery at hatching time by vaccinating etc as they're readied for shipment to layer barns.
