That's seems awesome. I don't have an overdrive library anywhere near me in Michigan.
Any place else like that?
I went with the Nook myself. I prefer epub as it is the almost-universal standard now, I like the memory card slot (useful for mp3s, pdfs, and other big files in the future) and the replaceable battery. And with Android there is always potential for other cool stuff on it. I hate DRM so I buy very little from the B&N store, but they've had some awesome B&N published classics for free this summer.
My wife went with the Kindle 2. She loves Amazon and is willing to buy with DRM (I warned her...you think she would have learned after a couple of itunes debacles over the years).

Yeah the Phila Pub. library thing is FANTASTIC if you live in an area where your library isn't on the ebook lendging train yet. The $15 annual fee for out of staters really is a bargain seeing how it pays for itself and then some after two books.
I'm so glad you mentioned the MP3 and the memory card slot. People keep saying well 1500 books or 3000 books is more than enough. Well yes I guess in a general (though your library does fill up quicker than you might think) But my wife is a perfect example of why expanision memory card slots are great. She loves to listen to books on CD on her way to work. She has a fairly long drive. So instead of constanstly buying more and more books on CD's she can either download them from various shops on line including our home platform of BN and even the Public Library in MP3 format. Click and drag over to the Nook. Hook up a male to male 3.5 headphone wire and plug it in the Aux on the car stereo and she's good to go with her books on disk.
MP3 takes up alot more space than books do so, if you do like to listen to books on CD and take advantage of the MP3 support, memory expansions slot are great.
ohhh but wait that's another thing Amazon refuses to let you have
