This is hand-writing recognition for linux. I have not tried it, just happened to read about it the other day. It uses a specific entry panel, like the current hand writing input on the iliad, but it also has a way of training it which the iliad does not, AFAICT. I wonder if the guts of this could provide the general algorithm?
