Well, the bulk of that list is currently composed of public domain stuff and those self-published books which suddenly went to 0.00 in the Amazon store (at least for US customers) because of the no-price-undercut clause, so at least international people can still pick up many of the titles free via Smashwords and Gutenberg?
Not the optimal solution to avoid disappointment, but better than nothing. And it avoids the Whispernet surcharge for those countries which still have it.
