Let's ask the question a different way. If you were writting for living, what would be your fair price for your work? These writters should be paid a fair sallary. The publisher has overhead, the distributer has overhead. AND, evreyone wants to make a profit, right? There are thousands of free books and novels at Amazon and other places on the net, and many for .99 cents. If I average up my overall book cost I'm sure it wouldn't be much. I like new and also classics. If there is a new release that is really popular then I would expect to pay more for it than one that has been out for years. I'm not complaining.
