New K3 owner here
Hello all:
I recently received my first e-reader, which is the Kindle 3 with WiFi. I've been reading a great deal since it arrived, as I can download such a wide variety of books and materials into it. Basically, this little gadget allows me to read everything from favorite classics to current newspapers to new books, allowing me to flip from book to book as the mood strikes, all in a very small and portable package.
I'm still getting to know the specifics and eccentricities of the technology of this device, such as how to quickly find the middle of a book when there is no table of contents, what the cryptic "page numbers" really mean as concerns practical application, etc. By and large, I find it to be quite user friendly--not as good as a real book--and have been taking it to the local coffee shop where there is a great atmosphere for reading. Thoroughly enjoying that, since a two hour session may take me from a book, to a magazine, to a newspaper, and back to another book without ever having to put the Kindle down.
I have an Amazon case for it now (with the attached little light that actually works much better than I would have ever thought), and am looking around to find something more rugged and waterproof for more outdoor excursions.
All in all, glad I got it and happy to be reintroduced to some of my long lost classics and novels, which are now conveniently loaded into my new, ubiquitous companion. I see a lot of useful posts in this forum, so I will try and learn what I can from the rest of you to make the e-reader experience better.
Best,
Chris
