I'm student and like to have something like a simple flashcard-application for learning. I've got some ideas how this program has to work but I'm really a poor programer (physics is my subject...).
a) It must be possible to create the card-set with a simple editor at the computer. Until now I'm using the LaTeX-package "Kartei", which is a german alternative to "flashcards". This creates flashcards with questions on the odd and answers on the even pages. So it's easily possible to split the whole document into the single cards.
b) You need a rating for the cards, so that the learned ones appear at less frequency than the difficult ones.
c) And a shuffle function.
d) Because I'm studying physics, it has to work with equations. -> PDF would be nice.
I don't know, how many of your customers were students but this could really be a killer-feature for the PocketBook (like DjVu still is) in this group.

In the Pocketbook Apps contest last year one of the submissions was Memorum:
"Memorum
Application that helps to learn foreign languages. It allows to learn words by using cards with a word and its translation. There are three modes: learning, self-checking and testing. It also contains a calendar which allows you to plan definite cards on definite days."
The App and the source code are available for free download.

There is also an editor to create cards called MCL_Editor
