I'm currently finishing up the rough draft of "The Man Who Did Too Much" a cozy mystery suspense. I want to take my time on this one, so I probably won't release it until March, though.
Here's a practice blurb - (Long version because I can never get things down to the essence while I'm working on them):
George Starling is a compulsive hero who has taken leave from his job as a recovery agent at an international security firm to take care of the woman he rescued and fell in love with. At least he thinks he has. He can't stop being a hero and she - suffering from PTSD - can't stop being a damsel long enough for them to tell if they even have a relationship.
Now trapped in a dull little midwestern town, George is bored out of his skull, and he agrees to do a favor for his former employer: talk to a local woman who may have been seen with a kidnapped foreign prince.
Karla Marquette is a quirky middle-aged spinster and fanatical classic movie buff who was just doing a favor for a friend when she babysat that little boy. She knows her friend is in trouble, and there is no way she's going to help this strange guy in a trench coat and a funny accent who shows up at her door. This whole thing is looking more and more like the plot of the Prisoner of Zenda, or maybe the Third Man....
But to save her friend, Karla is going to need George's help. And George realizes from the moment he met her that this happy kook has the answer to the miseries of both he and his girlfriend.
